Happy Easter to everyone and happy 5 day holiday off to those who are enjoying it! (I'm one of those unfortunate ones who won't be enjoying the holiday off). During the Holy week, there are various activities as Filipinos that we do (pabasa, visita iglesia), however one activity that you should try (or should not miss) is the Church Simplified's "Walkway: Reflections on the Station of the Cross".
How does this differ from the usual stations of the cross? It is pretty much the same however I found the acts pretty unique, from praying for a stranger to carrying a cross (minus the scourging and crown of thorns of course).
Each stations has its own story and its own act. The story tells of the length of suffering Jesus has encountered for us and as well as some nifty facts about the whole station of the cross (such as the significance/message signified of burial cloth being arranged properly when Peter arrived in the tomb).
This event does live up to their catch phrase "Church can be simple!"
So, if your someone who wants to do something new in next year's holy week, add Church Simplified's "Walkway: Reflections on the Station of the Cross" @ BGC.
Below are more details of the event
One of my personal favorites act! It gives you the chance to pray for a stranger and leave your own prayers for someone else to pray
Therefore being a Simon is nice every day :)
The carrying of the cross, nailing of the black strip of cloth (where you write down your most devious sin),
Which is your worst enemy? Security, Ambition or Intimacy?
We also have other display such as the whip and thorns
The stations of the cross are below
And after a long day...
When : Yearly, from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday
Where : Bonifacio High Street Grounds
