The International Pyro Musical showcases the pyrotechnics prowess of each country, battling it out in different weeks. This event starts during the second week of February and ends on March, depending on the number of participants.
Two teams battle it out every weekend and on the last week, the host country (in this case Philippines for the last 3 years) will have their own exhibition. The last weekend is the most busiest and most watched showcase, as it features Philippines and its "no holds barred/no rules" on where they can place their Pyrotechnics. For two years in a row, I have seen their usual setup of water, flagpoles and on top of the Mall of Asia building (which I have to say creates a crazy spectacle)
You get to see various pyro's like smileys and heart and other unsual shapes you can't imagine how its done.
How about Tickets?
Their are 4 types of tickets available, (you can refer to here for the location)
Patron with dinner (1500) which is the closest to the bay and serves buffet food. The arrangement is usually a round table which can be shared by 8 people (kudos to the team who handled this event as they made the table seating arrangement much organized compared to last year). This seat is best for those who want to get up close and personal with the fireworks.
VIP (500) is the area behind the patron with dinner and is situated on the MOA by the bay magical fountain area. Seating arrangement is side by side
Gold (300) is the area behind the VIP (generally, they are across the street of MOA by the bay) and on the sides of Patron with dinner. Seating arrangement is side by side
Silver (200) is on both side of Gold across the street and on the MOA by the bay. Seating arrangement is side by side
The restaurants around the mall fronting the bay also has their own reservations at different prices so if you still want to dine while watching (aside from patron with dinner) you can get reservations on the different restaurants or coffee shops.
How about traffic?
Traffic is generally okay as long as
- The event does not hit an SM Sale
- Not the last event featuring the Philippines
To share, previous year, it took an hour to get from parking on the 6th floor of MOA up to the MOA globe. This year, it took around 45 minutes. Hopefully there is something that can be done next year about traffic
How about parking?
Like traffic, parking is generally okay as long as
- The event does not hit an SM Sale
- Not the last event featuring the Philippines
- Arrive at least an hour before the gates open
